Quentin Tyrone Henry
Quentin Henry serves as Area Director for Grand Rapids Urban Young Life in Grand Rapids. He has been working with youth the last seventeen years and has been focusing his time in the Grand Rapids Public Schools with coaching: football, basketball, and starting after school events to give guidance to youth such as Bible Clubs, W.A.R Program, R.E.A.L Talk, and Outreach Basketball League.
He believes that youth ministry is about changing the lives of youth and empowering young students to change their world. He uses his ministries as a model for holistic ministry that addresses all the needs of students’ lives and spiritual lives.
Quentin was selected by representatives from Grand Rapids Community College and community to be recognized with the H.C. Toliver Religious Life Award at the 2008 Giants Awards Banquet for the work he and the ministry is doing to make a difference with youth throughout the city.
Quentin was born and raised in Detroit and graduated from Southfield High School in Southfield, Michigan. He moved to Grand Rapids to attend Davenport College, where he attended for two years.
Quentin lives in Grand Rapids, MI, with his beautiful wife Phyllis and their four children: Ashley, Quiniece, Quentin Jr., and Quincy. Quentin has one grandson named Marlin.
